Pediatric Providers

Our providers at Kids Creek Children’s Clinic are dedicated to the health and well being of children and families. In addition to caring for patients in our clinic, our physicians have hospital privileges at Munson Medical Center.   All of our physicians are Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, as well as active Fellows with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) serve as pediatric health care providers for well and ill children of all ages. Our PNPs perform physical exams, provide developmental and wellness guidance to families, as well as diagnose and treat common and chronic childhood illnesses. They have received advanced graduate nursing education in the specialty of pediatrics, along with nurse practitioner certification through the nationally recognized Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.The physicians and nurse practitioners at Kids Creek Children’s Clinic work in collaboration to provide your child with quality pediatric care.

The providers at Kids Creek Children's Clinic value the long term relationships developed with children and families throughout the growing years. We are happy to offer appointments at our clinic with the provider you choose. All of our physicians and nurse practitioners are accepting new patients.

  • James Robertson
    MD, FAAP
    Doctor

    BA: College of Wooster
    Doctor of Medicine: Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

    Dr. Robertson is a 1995 graduate of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Kalamazoo Center of Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, MI in 1998, spending his last year as Chief Resident. Dr. Robertson is board certified in pediatrics and loves caring for children of all ages. He also works as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Munson Medical Center.  Dr. Robertson has special clinical interests in asthma, sports-related injuries, Attention Deficit Disorder, and general well-child and newborn care.

    He and his wife, Amy, have four children. He coaches baseball, basketball, and soccer in his free time.


  • Stephanie Galdes
    DO, FAAP

    Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine: Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

    Dr. Galdes is a 2008 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI in 2011, after which she served a year as Chief Resident. Dr. Galdes is board certified in pediatrics and cares for children of all ages. She has a special interest in newborns and infant growth and development, but also enjoys caring for adolescents and children with ADHD and obesity problems.

    Dr. Galdes and her husband, Todd, have 3 children. In her free time she enjoys gardening, fishing, snowshoeing and snowboarding, and spending quality time with family.

  • Kimberly A. Hegewald

    Doctor of Medicine: Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

    Dr. Hegewald is a 1996 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency in Pediatric and Adolescent medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1999.  Dr. Hegewald is Board Certified in Pediatrics and cares for children of all ages. 

    Dr. Hegewald and her husband Monte have 4 children ranging from High school to adulthood.   In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, skiing, baking, spending time with her dogs and attending her children's sports events.

  • Kristina Lishawa

    Doctor of Medicine: Harvard Medical School

    Dr. Lishawa is a 2004 graduate of Harvard Medical School.  She completed her residency in combined internal medicine/pediatrics at University of Rochester Medical Center in 2009.  Dr. Lishawa is board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics and cares for children of all ages.  She also cares for adults as a hospitalist at Munson Medical Center.  Dr. Lishawa is fluent in Spanish and has special interests in international health care, medical missions and transitional care of chronic pediatric illnesses.

    Dr. Lishawa has 2 children.  In her free time she enjoys photography, running and hiking

  • Rachel Newman

    Dr. Newman is a 2008 Graduate of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL in 2011. Dr Newman is board certified in pediatrics and has a special interest in breastfeeding.

    Dr. Newman has 3 young children. Dr. Newman enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, photography and running

  • Mark Israel

    Dr. Israel is a 1984 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine.  He completed his residency at Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI in 1987.  In addition, he completed a Fellowship in Chronic Illness at Michigan State University in 1988 and a Fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1990.  Dr. Israel is Board Certified in Pediatrics and enjoys caring for children of all ages.

    Dr. Israel and his wife, Elaine, have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  He enjoys travel, backpacking, running and reading.

  • Elayna Dush-Bryant

    Doctor of Medicine: University of Louisville School of Medicine 

    Dr. Dush-Bryant is a 2017 graduate of The University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital/Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids, MI in 2020. Dr. Dush-Bryant is board qualified in Pediatrics and cares for children of all ages. She has a special interest in newborns, sports medicine, and LGBTQ+ health.

    Dr. Dush-Bryant and her husband Kevin have two dogs and a cat that they enjoy running, hiking, and adventuring with. 

  • Catherine Dilts Carter,

    Cathy has been a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Kids Creek Children’s Clinic for over 30 years. She is an active Fellow in the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and member of the Michigan NAPNAP chapter. Cathy cares for children of all ages and has a special interest in Adolescent Health. In addition to providing patient care, Cathy is the Kids Creek Children's Clinic office manager.

    She is married and the mother of two adult children, she enjoys walking, reading, and gardening.

  • Alicia Classens
    RN, MS, CPNP

    Alicia is a 2004 Graduate of the University of Michigan's Community Health Nursing, Infant, Child and Adolescent Health Nurse Practitioner Program.  She has experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neonatal Intensive Care and as a Nurse Practitioner in a School based health clinic.  

    Alicia is an active fellow in the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and a member of the Michigan NAPNAP chapter. She sees patients of all ages, but has special interests in Adolescent health, mental health and infants.

    Alicia is a native resident of Traverse City and is married with six children ranging from college to kindergarten.  She enjoys spending time with family, reading , running and gardening.

  • Rebecca E Baker
    RN, MS, CPNP

    MS: Wayne State Univertisy 

    Becky is a 2017 graduate of Wayne State University with a Master of Nursing in Pediatric Primary Care.  She comes to us with seven years of nursing experience, six and a half years of which was spent as a trauma and emergency nurse.

    Becky is an active fellow in the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and a member of the Michigan NAPNAP chapter.  She enjoys seeing patients of all ages with a special interest in infants and adolescent mental health.

    Becky and her husband, Travis, have a young son and daughter as well as an angel daughter in heaven that they tragically lost as an infant.  Together Becky and her husband run a competitive AAU volleyball club and are very active in the school community where Travis teaches.  In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with her friends and family, snowmobiling, swimming and hiking.
